EATING MY WAY THROUGH 25 COUNTRIES

For our 25th wedding anniversary we decided, in advance, to attend for the first time, the annual Food And Wine Festival at Disney's Epcot...

RENO. 411.

In retrospect, it was foolish to not know that it was Labor Day weekend, known locally in Reno as the Burning Man Festival and the National Rib Cookoff...

D.C. ON A DARE

DOG DAYS

Sometimes you have to wonder what dogs are thinking. They certainly seem to have some innate intelligence behind those large doe eyes. I wonder what they think when we are out taking them for a walk...

"So, have you noticed how, in the last ten years or so, our masters have been collecting our dumps in their plastic bags, at least when there are other humans around?"

"Yeah, what's with that? What do you think they DO with that stuff?"

"Dunno, I thought they were just especially proud of me and my efforts, but you're right... it's been going on for too long for it to be that simple."

"Maybe, they're saving up for a sculpture or something. I once saw one of their babies make a statue with it."

"Nah, it can't be that. We haven't seen or smelled any statues like that."

"Yeah, you're right. Have you noticed that they use the same bags that they bring home groceries in?"

"Wow, you're right. OK, I have a theory... I think that somehow our dumps have become valuable while at the same time the humans' money must have wasted away. Think about it, they collect our dumps in those plastic bags, like you said, the same bags they bring home the groceries in. And we never see those bags again, so I say they are using our dumps as cash for groceries!"
